The P3000 was introduced 30 years ago to provide a power reserve for critical equipment or engine starting, by isolating non critical circuits at a set low battery voltage. A secondary benefit was improved battery life, as deep discharge levels are minimised if not alleviated.
The system can be supplied integral with a VSR charging system, providing a complete system in one unit, for more detail please refer to the Powercentre systems.
Why the priority to battery power reserve, simply that the battery’s primary purpose
is to supply power to equipment connected to it. Some of the equipment has a more
critical usage, such as vhf / radio communication, while a fridge, microwave, or
certain lights are only convenient. By splitting the positive supply into primary
and secondary circuits, non-
Some units that have come onto the market since the P3000’s introduction, operating on a simple low battery voltage, just isolate power to extend battery life. Which at first sight would seem a good idea, extend battery life save money, save cost. But if you are mid channel in bad weather, power maximisation is worth more than a little saved in battery cost. The same can be said for emergency service vehicles, having extended power for critical equipment can far out weight the little saved in extending battery life.

can be supplied in kit form, less mounting plate, for customer installation. We can
supply the interconnecting control cable to the relay to a customised length. For
production orders multi-
adjustable voltage trip and reset levels, allows the system to be tuned to a particular installation requirements.

P3000 since it’s introduction in 1981, the system has always provided advance warning
of low battery level. Over the years in-
interface cable between the display module and the control module, is either a 4 or 8 core cable depending on the system installed, and carries all volt, amp data and control functions. Normal connections are via screw terminal, but for production orders, we can supply systems with standard or waterproof multipole plug and socket connectors
